County transfer stations are handling less construction debris and garbage, which could mean more layoffs for county workers. King and Snohomish counties are even battling each other for the right to handle household rubbish in south Snohomish County.

Thank goodness for soft toilet paper: The pilot of a Cessna was able to walk away after he crashed into several portable toilets in a storage yard next to a Puyallup airfield on Friday.
The FAA is investigating but may not be able to determine the cause of the crash as they now have nothing to go on.
