Trees are alive, but road anti-business

So our $438,000 trees on the Mukilteo Speedway (plus future maintenance costs) are still alive. Isn’t that nice. Didn’t anybody in authority realize that that cost is almost one half of a million dollars? All that money to create a road that is anti-business, and anti-driver.

One restaurant has already closed (probably for lack of easy access to their business). Once you have gotten off of the Speedway to go to a business, the way back is quite round about. When I compare the “design” of this street to others in the area, I give it a very low mark.

Evergreen, Colby and Highway 99 all have center lanes that are left and right turn lanes and make it easy to get to and leave a business. Since Highway 99 is also a state highway, it can’t be said that this was done because the Speedway is a state highway.

I would have to assume that the person or persons that decided on this design either didn’t drive, or didn’t live in this area. They surely don’t own a business along the Speedway. Maybe they had a lot of shrubs and concrete to get rid of.
