The position Tulalip Tribes have taken with regards to the proposed Mukilteo pier is irrational but not surprising. What rational group that relies on a vibrant economy with lots of folks working to support its casino could possibly conclude that jeopardizing Boeing’s ability to efficiently move parts and economically manufacture the new 7E7 could benefit our community?
It seems that on one hand the tribes are recognizing that the fishing industry is not an economic panacea and that gambling is the way of the future but then they fall back on using the fish story to forge some type of compromise. The tribal situation is out of hand and until we as voters remove their support – including Sens. Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray and Rep. Rick Larsen – from office we will continue to get what we deserve, including the support of a very biased judicial group that always rules against the non-tribal citizens of our society.
