During my 51 years as a registered voter, I have voted for about an even number of candidates from each party all the way from president to county government officials. I even wrote in Lee Iacocca for president once. I resolve to give the person elected president my support in the only job in America that will make an old person of a young person in four to eight short years. I found President Trump’s morals repugnant, but, afforded him the same respect I gave all the others. I did not vote for Donald Trump.
However, that being said, I find one excerpt from Bob Woodward’s book to be particularly telling about the fundamental lack of understanding by the president concerning what it means to be a patriotic American. He claimed he lied about the coronavirus to protect the country from panic. Mr. President, we do not panic! We are Americans! We take our licks, circle our wagons and kick hell out of whatever the problem is no matter how catastrophic it is at the time.
Mr. Trump should go back to his “military” high school and this time pay attention to history and civics classes. Maybe he would learn what it takes to be an American patriot. Some science courses would do him well also.
You may have guessed. I will not be voting for President Trump in November.
