I have the opportunity to often drive Marsh Road which extends from Highway 9 southwest of Snohomish across the flats to Lowell-Larimer Road at the bottom of Seattle Hill Road.
At this time of year I often see the birds you pictured on the front page the March 8 Herald. However, according to my Audubon Society bird book, they are not snow geese but trumpeter swans.
In the past one could see snow geese in this area but in recent years the swans have apparently replaced them. Regardless I love seeing either bird in this area.

Editor’s note: Mr. Nutting is correct. Those were trumpeters shown on Friday’s front page.
