Don’t turn your back on a Roomba: The world’s biggest robot makers say they have improved the safety features for their robots, such as those that weld vehicle frames in automobile factories. Using better sensors, the robots can tell when a human is near and can avoid harming workers.

Of course, that’s what the robots want you to think.

Imma let you celebrate: NBC has added a half-hour to its 40th anniversary special for “Saturday Night Live” to 3 1/2 hours on Sunday night. Among the scheduled guests are Dan Aykroyd, Kristen Wiig and Kanye West.

The extra half-hour was added so that Kanye can give a half-hour monologue on how Beyonce should be the only musical guest on the show.

Forever hold your peace: The federal judge who overturned Alabama’s same-sex marriage ban ordered one reluctant county to begin issuing marriage licenses, a signal to all judges across the state to do the same.

Alabama has seen “shotgun marriages” before; it’s just that usually it’s not the judge who’s in the sights of the father of the bride.
