A friend was taught to say “Thank you very much, please come again” to the customers he served in his Dad’s store. Today we often hear (with a few wonderful exceptions) “There you go,” which leads us, the customer, to say “thank you.” I wonder where this common business courtesy has gone and how much the economy would improve if this simple act of gratitude would return?
