On the subject of income inequality and corporate taxes, I have an idea — I suggest that the state offer tax incentives to corporations on a sliding scale based on this equation: The difference between the median salary of the company’s workforce versus the average salary of the executive leadership team — the lower the disparities, the greater the tax incentives. In my opinion, the increased spending power of higher-wage employees will offset the state’s revenue loss due to lower corporate taxes. Additionally, the corporations will win by attracting the best employees, as well as executives who truly care for the good of company — as a community of engaged and empowered colleagues — more than his or her individual bank account balance.
