Thwarting Islamic terrorism is probably the greatest challenge we have ever faced. It is understandable that President Bush’s critics, who are quick to condemn our military involvement in Iraq, have yet to offer one convincing alternative. Aligning ourselves to Western Europe appears to be practical. However, are we to join such an alliance – an alliance increasingly influenced by the cool feasibilities of fascist-socialist dogma? Within that dogma, a renewed resentment of the Jewish people, now Israel, is emerging. Will we give in to callous expediency, abandoning our allies in an attempt to appease the hatred of butchers?
Yet, if Israel were driven to the sea, we would still remain infidels in the eyes of Islamic extremists. Will America, barely tolerating the benign traditions of Christianity, then welcome the rigors and uncompromising edicts of an Islamic church-state? I humbly implore those who question our president’s motives to take a serious reality check.
