In Paul Roberts’ Dec. 16 guest commentary “Encroachment is the underlying issue at Paine Field,” he suggests that the issue of “encroachment” is missing from the discussion surrounding commercial air service at Paine Field.
If he believes that, he hasn’t been listening. The whole “discussion” is about encroachment, but from a point of view that differs with his, that of the communities developed after agreements signed with the county many years ago to protect them from Paine Field encroachment. These agreements were made and signed in good faith by honorable people. In my opinion, what appears to be missing from recent discussions and from some conducting those discussions is an understanding of the word “honor.”
