Mother’s Day was like any other day. I got up and made breakfast for the family, got a “Happy Mother’s Day.” Later we took ourselves and our 14-year-old son out to dinner. There were no cards, flowers or gifts. No phone calls from our grown children or anything.
But, just when I thought that there would be nothing special about Mother’s Day, it happened. We came home from dinner to find that our lawn had been mowed by a total stranger. There was no note so that we could thank the individual or anything. It was the most special Mother’s Day gift that I could have ever received and so unexpected.
I would like to thank the mystery mower and tell you that you gave me the best present that I have ever received on Mother’s Day.
