Regarding the USDA tracking system for livestock and poultry, according to your Sunday article “Feds get farmers’ goat,” nobody knows how the animals will be tracked or how the government will cover the cost of the project.
The cost to the livestock owner does not appear to be a concern for the USDA.
USDA spokesman Jim Rogers says, “We are still pretty early on the process.”
What I read into this is, we don’t have a plan, we don’t know what we are going to do or how we are going to do it, but trust us, after all, we are the federal government. Well, duh!
