Use reusable bags, not paper or plastic

When I go to grocery stores other than the Sno-Isle Natural Foods Co-op in Everett, I find myself using their unrecycled paper bags, or worse, plastic bags.

Not anymore. I will bring in my own bags, which are made for the Co-op.

They’re great for all sorts of things. They’re about the size of a big paper bag and extremely light. My husband said if I buy him five, he’ll bring them wherever he shops. Great idea! I should have thought about it before.

The Sno-Isle Natural Foods Co-op sells the bags for $4.99 apiece. The logo and slogan, “Get Your Local Wholesome,” with a farmer pushing a grocery cart as if it were a plow, says it all. There may be some bias here since my daughter, Sarah, painted the original picture, and she and her husband thought up the logo.

I hope you’ll seriously think of using either the co-op’s reusable bags, or at least bring in your own next time you go to the store.

Thanks for your consideration of the environment.
