There is a simple way to create millions of jobs in 90 days or less for Americans. There are about 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States, most of them employed. Finding them and sending them back to their countries of origin is difficult, expensive and has proven to be futile in the past.
At present, when an employer verifies a worker’s Social Security number, the employer is only advised that it’s a legal number. When that number is sold to illegals, it is sold multiple times, as many as 50 times or more. That means that the U.S. government is collecting taxes via the employers from all the multiple locations that the Social Security number is being used.
The solution is to have source code written into the Social Security tax records that detects if contributions are being made from multiple state locations at the same time. This multiple contribution would send up a red flag.
The IRS or Social Security would send an e-mail notification to each of the employers where the number is being used, notifying them that the number is being used in multiple locations. The employer would be required to interview the employee and ask them a series of questions to be developed by the Social Security Administration that would identify if the employee is really who they claim to be.
If the employee cannot answer the series of questions correctly, then the employer must terminate the employee immediately and notify Social Security of the termination.
The employer will need to fill that vacancy, which creates a job for Americans and people who can work here legally and the new system will automatically catch anyone trying to use a number that is already being used somewhere else. But our elected officials (Cantwell, Murray and Larsen) have ignored this proposal!
