There are nine radio antennas in Bellevue’s Mercer Slough, a wonderful wetland area that is home to parks, walking trails, berry farms and even a bird sanctuary. This is a truly vibrant place where people enjoy walking, running, biking and hiking without any loss of enjoyment of their surroundings. The berry farms do quite well. The neighboring hillside homes have appreciated in value year after year. The birds in Bellevue are perfectly capable of flying around these antennas.
While people opposing KRKO’s radio antennas say this project will “destroy” the Snohomish River Valley, experience proves otherwise. Perhaps visiting other locations where radio antennas have been installed would alleviate their fears. I wouldn’t normally voice my opinion, but these people are sounding a bit hysterical. Yes, the Snohomish River Valley is a beautiful place. And, yes, it will still be a beautiful place after KRKO builds its radio antennas. Experience says so.
