Regarding the article, “Valley General Hospital to seek tax increase”: Valley General Hospital, like many hospitals throughout the state, is going through difficult economic times. The recent affiliation with Evergreen Health of Kirkland, along with passing the levy on April 23 will ensure that our hospital district maintains a full service hospital and basic health care services for all residents of our hospital district.
It is our belief that having a local, full-service hospital plays a critical part in meeting our valley’s health care needs today, and in future years. Our local hospital was an important factor when we moved to the Monroe area in 1976, and, as senior citizens, it’s more important than ever.
We strongly support the long term success of our hospital, and will vote yes on the upcoming levy.
