Vote no on Prop. 1 to avoid double taxation

Lynnwood city government appears to be at it again. Like most socialists, they seem never able to get enough money to waste. Now, some members of Lynnwood city government want to be annexed into the Sno-Isle Intercounty Rural Library District. Currently, Lynnwood has a contract with Sno-Isle and part of the taxes paid by Lynnwood citizens covers the cost of that contract. Under Proposition 1, Sno-Isle will have the power to raise our taxes to pay for the library services.

Does the city of Lynnwood intend to cut our taxes which now support the library? The simple answer is, no! The proponents intend to have a windfall of some $1.2-1.4 million that they are already collecting from the taxpayer for the library services. This constitutes double taxation! Retention of the current taxes will allow them funds for some other folly! Their contention that the library competes for money against fire, police, emergency medical, etc. is nothing more than an outright dishonest attempt to scam the citizens. I reiterate, we the citizens are already being taxed for the library. There needs to be an unequivocal no vote on Lynnwood’s Proposition 1.

Additionally, the citizens need to start now to consider the next replacement mayor and some members of the council.
