Wake the kids
Sesame Street is brought to you by the letter Zzzzzzzzzz: PBS is adding to its children’s programming, launching a 24-hour channel that will also be offered on its pbskids.org website and on Roku, Apple TV and other video streaming platforms (Page B10).
Among the new shows: “Late Night with Bob the Builder,” “Curious George’s P90x Workout” and “Caillou: After Hours.”
I’ll take Incomprehensible Canadian Laws for $600, Alex: The producers of “Jeopardy!,” the quiz show hosted by famous Canadian Alex Trebek, have announced they will no longer accept Canadians as contestants, citing their interpretation of an “ever-changing and complex” Canadian law regarding Internet privacy (Page B10).
How complex could the Canadian Internet be? They’re still using dial-up modems and America Online CDs, aren’t they?
Think different: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates says Apple should cooperate with the FBI’s request to create a “backdoor” around a passcode for an iPhone that could provide information on a terrorist attack (Page A7).
And if Apple won’t, maybe Microsoft can; it’s pretty good at copying Apple features.
