We all need to support our president

I hope Al Thurmond of Everett (“Can President Bush step up to challenge?” Letters, Sept. 14) feels better now that he has written his letter impugning George W. Bush’s ability to lead this country during this disaster. How could he possibly know if GW is an FDR or not? He won’t even give the man a chance. Thurmond pronounced him guilty without a trial.

We do not need this kind of rhetoric. We need to support this president more than we have ever supported a president in our lives. Mr. Thurmond is the one who is arrogant and clueless because we are not fighting a WWII type war. We all need to put aside our political views and pull together for the sake of our country and the incredible freedom we enjoy.
