The March 9 Monroe schools levy failed by only 28 votes. They will try again on April 27 to get the levy passed.
I want to tell you how levy dollars affect my family: Both of my children are heavily involved in the music program at Hidden River Middle School. Both have greatly benefited, and both love music. Music not only is a contact point to bring kids to school, but has been proven to develop their brains in ways that improve their learning in other academic areas. The music program will be cut if the levy fails, hurting our (and my) kids.
Please vote yes on April 27 – my kids will musically thank you.
