Some day, we, as a society, supposedly an advanced civilization, are just going to have to let people grow up and make and pay for their own mistakes. To act like adults by making adult decisions.
By depriving everybody from viewing the ice caves because some folks made bad decisions is like closing a highway because it has curves on it that you can’t take at the same speed as the rest of the road. There are plenty of hiking trails that have dangerous spots as well (but great views) and we don’t close those trails. Yes, this was a tragedy and that’s very unfortunate, but to close it to everyone is not the right solution. It’s the popular one right now brought on by the current situation. Make sure the warning signs are in place and obvious and let the rest of us enjoy the sight.
