The No Trapping Law includes moles, mice and rats. The gestation time for moles is six weeks, 21 to 27 days for mice, and 21 to 23 days for rats. Poisoning is permitted but that really isn’t safe if a cat, dog or a small child picks up some and ingests it.
On July 11, I discussed this problem with Rep. Al O’Brien and he assured me that this problem would be fixed in the next legislative session, which starts in January 2003. Can we afford, health-wise and economically, to wait until then?
