John Koster’s reference to the people of Snohomish County who testified before the county council as “NIMBYs” is callous and insensitive (Dec. 19 news article “Zoning changes OK’d amid controversy”). These citizens took time to participate in a process believing that the purpose of the Growth Management Act was to provide them with an opportunity to have a say in what goes on in their backyard.
Our neighborhoods deserve better representation of Mr. Koster, not belittlement of citizens or favors to special interest groups.
