We must be careful crossing highways

There has been a recent rash of fatal accidents involving cars and pedestrians. I work for a paratransit company out of Mukilteo. We travel all the major roads in Snohomish County.I personally would like to beat some sense into the people who try to run across busy intersections and highways like Evergreen Way, Highway 99 and even I-5.

In nine years, I have seen six or seven people get hit crossing Highway 99 alone. It is like playing Russian roulette with a 2,000 pound vehicle that is doing 50 to 60 mph (the average speed on Highway 99).
