What would it take to start an audit of the registered voters in Washington state? Our daughter went to college in California six years ago. Shortly after graduating, she married a Californian and has lived there continually since that time. I know that she has her California license, a California address, and since she was married, no doubt has changed over much if not all of her identification to reflect California residency rather than Washington.
At each election we have received a ballot in her name and have torn them up and recycled them. I always wondered how many of these are sent out and how many people submit them fraudulently. I asked her to cancel her voter registration in Washington, and she did so. Still, today we again received a voter ballot for her.
I suspect that a great many former and deceased residents of Washington might still be having ballots mailed as if they still were living here and able to vote. Don’t you wonder about the accuracy of our vote counts? It shows that we clearly need an audit done of the list of registered voters to see how many are still living residents and qualified to vote here, and how many are not. The apparent lack of maintenance of this list undermines my trust in our state’s vote outcomes.
