We need someone to stand up for us

I can only speak for myself, but I don’t feel safe. Our country is in great division. Our country went through a similar event during the Vietnam War. I love the United States, our troops, our land, our people. We have one thing in common: We are all citizens in the same boat. That means we must keep the boat balanced. Currently we have extremes running our country – from the extreme religious right, extreme media, extreme big business, the extreme environmentalists.

We need a sound person leading this country who we can really respect, a person of experience and empathy and the knowledge to really protect our country. We are at war. Our media and politicians fight about stuff that is really important and not important at all. What is important is that we must protect our country. My government telling me to keep my eye on the color-code system and stock up on duct tape insults my intelligence.

We need a leader to stand up and take charge. I nominate Sen. John McCain. Why? Because he has common sense, he can bring leadership to the real people who work hard every day to make this a great country. We are the middle of the country and not the extremes. We are so busy working and raising our children, dealing with just keeping health care and gasoline in our cars and we are so tired we can’t fight. Well, it is time to fight for our country. I guess we must first recall our current president, thank him for serving his country and move forward. I wonder if others feel as I do.
