That makes sense: Put up concrete barriers on U.S. 2 and I-5 in Marysville and force some would-be cross-over to flip and kill someone in his own lane of traffic (“State has failed to protect the public,” Wednesday letter.)
We are sick of this whining! The money to do this can be more usefully spent to create jobs to increase police presence, or use drones to monitor traffic.
U.S. 2 and I-5 were not responsible for these accidents! Likewise, it should not be the government’s responsibility to prevent the crossovers, but it should be the governments responsibility to enforce safe driving.
Since the major reason for some of these accidents is inattention, why don’t we consider making cell phone use in a moving vehicle a primary infraction instead of a secondary infraction? In this way, our government has failed to protect the public.
Driving is not a right! Driving is a privilege, and we should respect it as such and we should accept responsibility for our actions!
