Has there been a U.S. study as to why approximately 7,000 Central Americans are leaving their homes? Is it lack of economic opportunity, government corruption, criminal threat, etc?
What would be the cost to ameliorate these issues? Would pressure on these governments to sharply reduce government corruption, institute robust prosecution criminal activity and investments help in the creation of a stronger economy.
Would these slow an exodus? Promoting democracy worldwide is the greatest mission of the United States; let’s take positive actions costing less than a border wall or sending the army to protect us from hungry, frightened people who just want a better life.
Finally, allowing 7,000 people into the U.S. of some 335 million would be like identifying one person in a stadium of 50,000.
