We need to do our part for the vulnerable and get vaccinated

Greetings, and one more plea to the unvaccinated.

Ned is a college professor with four young children who has been fighting brain cancer for more than two years. His wife’s most recent message on CaringBridge outlined Ned’s new treatment regimen (and prognosis) and ended with this plea to covid deniers everywhere:

“Lastly, let’s all do our collective part to kick covid to the curb! The added stress of navigating a terminal disease along with a pandemic has been so trying for [us]. The last thing we need … is to have our kids sent home from school for quarantines or remote learning while Ned requires lots of care from me. Or for the hospital to turn Ned away in case of an emergency. Or even worse, to put a hold on his treatment while the cancer is raging inside his brain. We have no choice to be in the hospital every day for the next six weeks. Let’s do our part to keep others out so that Ned can get the best care possible. Please get your vaccine and wear a mask! Every person matters in this!”

Ned is my nephew.
