Does this lifesaver come in a XXL? Washington State Ferries has reduced the capacity of its ferries, not because the vessels can’t hold as much weight but because passengers are packing more pounds than in the past. The estimated average weight of adult passengers has increased to 185 pounds from 160 pounds.

The ferry system won’t have to build bigger life boats, however, as the more buoyant among us can use ourselves as our own personal flotation devices.

Working themselves into a lather: The new trend among hipster men is to shun the electric shavers and high-tech five-bladed razors their fathers use and pick up a shaving brush and a straight razor and groom like it’s 1899.
