We’re a nation of liberty and choice

We really need a 365-day calendar of MYOB, plus one for leap year.

What is wrong with a day of prayer? If you want to pray, do so. If not, don’t. Should we do away with Christmas, New Year’s, and other holidays because they have religious connections — some Pagan, some Christian, or other?

How about war days? We have Veterans Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and others. Should we cancel those days because some people do not believe in war?

We have the choice to celebrate or not. Some people respect our flag, some don’t. I respect our flag and I celebrate these days. My personal opinion is that the only war we should have been involved in is the Revolution, to declare and win our liberty. The Civil War was a very sad time. All of the other wars have been a result of the U.S. government interfering in the affairs of other nations. We should be a defensive nation, not an offensive one.

I believe in liberty, and try to be a man of my word. And not infringe on others. I would like the same consideration from them. All this to say, give people the liberty to celebrate or not, to pray or not. You don’t have to agree with me, you can be wrong if you want to, and I expect you to allow me the same privilege.
