This letter is in reply to Jeffrey M. Buckley and to all people who think like him (“Liberals expect help from the rest of us,” April 18).
Yes, we are supposed to help people with food stamps, health care through Medicaid, educate kids through public schools, and help our elderly and people with mental health issues. We are not supposed to cut any of these programs in order to enrich the pockets of the rich and to give the government more money to play around with, like unwarranted wars like what’s going on now.
Please don’t call me unpatriotic just because I don’t agree with the way our great country is heading. I just see where the Republicans are taking us and I don’t like it.
You can stick up for President Bush all you want to, but the truth is that he’s taking us on a path of destruction that will take us years to come out of. To me his actions speak louder than his words.
