According to the “Thought for the day” piece in the Monday Herald, Cicero warned us of times like these, way back in the 1st century. More than 2,000 years ago, the great Roman statesman said, “What is more unwise than to mistake uncertainty for certainty, falsehood for truth.”
He must be spinning in his toga at the antics of those who are supposed to be leading our nation in the ways of truth and justice envisioned by our forefathers and mothers.
