What a treat! My family and I attended the Salty Sea Days parade on Colby Avenue last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed this great community event. We left our house at about 10:15 a.m. and drove 10 minutes downtown, parked (for free!), walked a short two blocks to the corner of Colby and Hewitt and staked our claim for front row seats to this truly wonderful two-hour parade.
Having been raised in Bellevue, I moved to Everett about 10 years ago. I don’t remember there ever being such a fantastic series of community events such as the parade, the antique car show and the carnival on the waterfront when I was growing up. I wonder if lifelong Everett residents really appreciate what we have here.
