Does anyone ever wonder what happened to the true meaning of brothers and sisters in a union family? What ever happened to solidarity? Staying united? Sept. 13, when Mark Blondin announced the results on our contract vote, was the day when a black cloud came in, shadowing our union family.
Why would 39 percent of our own brothers and sisters have voted for the contract and not to reaffirm the strike sanction vote knowing that they would be sending their own brothers and sisters down the road as their jobs become offloaded? Is that how we treat family? Did some of us forget what brothers and sisters mean when it comes to our union family?
Families do not send their other family members down the road when things get tough, they bring them together and take care of one another. We need to remember our union family is a family and we need to take care of each other and when we take care of each other we will always be strong together. Do you ever wonder whatever happened to the union family concept?
