A letter published Monday asserts that we wouldn’t need liberals (or health-care reform) if people would just get jobs and then purchase health insurance with the money they get from these jobs. This would be an act of rewarding good behavior.
Apparently this person lives in a parallel universe where there are plenty of good paying jobs. This same location has health insurance companies that don’t raise their rates by 20 percent to 40 percent on a constant basis and they don’t have all kinds of qualifiers for their policy holders. In the place where this person lives, corporations are not rewarded for sending our jobs overseas to get a better profit margins on their next quarterly earnings report. In this parallel universe CEOs, CFOs, and stockholders have consciences.
If only we could all live in this person’s world!
