I hope that I am not the only person who read The Herald last weekend and saw that the United States is sending $350 million for quake relief to aid the unfortunate victims of the recent earthquakes. Just below that information, also on the front page, was a story about Washington state people who can’t afford dental care. Washington isn’t the only state in this situation. Affordable health and dental care aren’t available to millions of poor, working poor and middle class. And, yes, even the well off are paying. When will the health care “gods” understand that a healthy country is a happy, productive country?
Perhaps obesity is a problem because we can’t chew our food properly or we must choose between healthy foods and cheap, unhealthy foods.
