In my view your May 28 editorial chastising John Robinson of Mill Creek was absolute rubbish. (“Offensive clothing isn’t criminal issue”).
I too would have been offended by such an expression on a T-shirt in a public place and I don’t feel this is a humorous subject. We are all too afraid to express our views in public – fearful of reprisal or being labeled unpatriotic, un-Christian, etc.
Yes, we’ve come a long way since the halcyon days of the ’30s and ’40s but at what a price – being politically correct and not violating others’ rights. What happened to my freedom? Unable to take walks without protection, teaching our children to be fearful? My visual and audio space is being assaulted with obscenities.
I, too, would like to return to a more polite society but that isn’t possible. So instead of returning to whence I came (suggested by those who disagree with me) I prefer to stay and try to improve our lives.
