We have a small neighborhood park called Century Park on Berkshire Drive and Elliott Way.
The neighborhood group got together and helped created this park out of a rundown piece of city property that was overgrown with tall grass and weeds. They cleared out the land, planted grass and some maple trees. Also, a chain link fence was put around the park to make it a safe place for children to play and for the neighbors to enjoy.
This same group planted flowers around the trees to beautify the area. This year, to commemorate our country, our theme was red, white and blue.
Now, someone is removing some of the flowers during the night. We have replaced the flowers each time, but the thieves come by and take them again. Dozens of plants have been taken so far, and its appears useless to keep replacing them. Also the chain link fence has been damaged.
What kind of person would steal from a small park that was created for the enjoyment of the entire neighborhood?
