Regarding the Feb. 27 article, “Bothell still wants to grow”: How many times do citizens need to reject annexation before the city of Bothell understands that we do not wish to be annexed to Bothell? I am insulted that the city has filed yet another “opportunity” for residents in unincorporated Snohomish County to vote “yes” on annexation, when those same citizens said “no” to annexation in November. What has changed?
While the city of Bothell’s website states that the vote is per a “citizen’s request,” when referencing that “citizen’s request” on the website one is provided with a snapshot of a letter from NEWBA, the same group that has supported and actively campaigned for annexation from the beginning. Does this mean that I, as a citizen of unincorporated Snohomish County, needed to send a letter requesting that annexation not be added to the ballot in order to avoid re-voting on this topic?
The city of Bothell needs to accept the fact that voters have already said no and quit wasting the city’s and state’s money going back to the ballot box. Shame on the city of Bothell.
