Ken Griffey Jr. apparently won’t be returning to the Mariners. Instead, Junior reportedly will wind up his career in Atlanta.

Atlanta’s a lot closer to Griffey’s home in Florida. It’s also a National League city, which means Junior will soon be limping around the house after a few stabs at playing in the outfield.

Chrysler and General Motors say they need more federal money to stay afloat.

The Buzz thinks that if Chrysler wants our money, it should be required to apologize for the following cars:

* The 1976 Plymouth Volare.

* The 1978 Dodge Omni.

* All Dodge Vipers purchased by men in the throes of a midlife crisis.

Starbucks apparently is serious about scuffing up its upscale image. The coffee giant is rolling out a new product: instant coffee.

Yes, instant coffee — the jarred stuff that serves as insurance against a withdrawal headache should you forget to buy actual java.

In true Starbucks fashion, its instant coffee costs a lot more: about $20 for 24 servings, compared with about $14 for 180 servings of Folgers Crystals.
