I thought I had heard everything, but I guess I was wrong. Now we have a call for a government (taxpayer-paid) medical program for the mountain goat. (Herald letters, Sept. 8: “Mountain Goats: Worm infestation puts heritage at risk”).
What will they need next, a government paid pension and a retirement home where the deer and antelope roam? If the letter writer, Mr. Thomas Ruthford, is so concerned, why doesn’t he make a very large contribution to one of the vocal environmental groups and request action from them?
At least he had the common sense to make the request of Democratic liberals where his proposal may get a full review. Any Republican would simply post the letter on the office bulletin board along with the rest of the Sunday funnies.
