I just want to add my two cents about the $250,000 that is being paid to an out-of-state firm to create a new image for Everett. The City Council complained that Everett golf courses aren’t making a profit. A council member felt that senior citizens are wealthy so they ultimately voted away the long-time annual pass discount for senior citizens. Now they are gladly throwing away $250,000 without giving a thought to allowing input on an image change from residents; or for that matter, if we even want it. (I suggest a few elected members/officials start reviewing what career path they’ll follow after the next election.)
I was born and raised in a milltown called Everett – not in Port Gardner. What with all the growth that has occurred and upscale construction that is planned, that’s enough change for this baby boomer, who is proud to be from, and live in, Everett!
