I live next to Pinewood Elementary School in Marysville. A few years ago the county spent several thousand dollars to add a pedestrian walkway to the school. Along with this walkway they added signs that read “No parking on walkway.” The staff of Pinewood Elementary have chosen to ignore this sign and park on this walkway. I have spoken to different individuals, left notes and called both Pinewood Elementary School and the Marysville superintendent’s office. All of this has fallen on deaf ears.
On Sept. 27 one of the teachers became offended that I pointed the sign out to her and proceeded to give me the finger and even to a comical dance out of spite. As I sit here writing this a different teacher has decided to continue parking on the walkway. I’ve watched as children, parents and handicapped people are forced to go out into the street to enter the school, putting them at risk. I’m at my wits end as to getting these school officials to comply with the law. They should be the ones setting the example.
