In reading the Monday article on domestic abuse (“Domestic abuse prosecutions up”) I was amazed to read Lisa Aguilar’s comment on reactions, “Your reaction is a choice you make.” The definition of a reaction is “A bodily process occurring due to the effect of some foregoing stimulus or agent.” Now how does choice get involved in that? And the next question is how much do the patricians pay to attend this class? Or should I say ordered to pay. Should we have a course that the “abused” should be ordered to attend as well so that they don’t fall into the same type of relationship again? And how come the city pays for this anyway?
Aren’t the people ordered to pay court cost and restitution and class cost? It just seems that this is a hot button to people that have now made a career out of being professional help to these victims.
