The article about the Snohomish County Economic Development Council’s proposals to spend $4 million to draw high tech companies to the area raises questions (“EDC steps up efforts: Panel hopes to lure plum high-tech jobs,” Sept. 20)
Since we cannot put up a fence around the county, these new jobs will draw people into the area, creating massive traffic problems, sources of pollution and development pressure on farmland and forests. And there will be a need for more schools, police and other services. Do the people of Snohomish County want the development problems of King County moved up here? Development will happen, but why spend money to speed it up?
