I hope the $13 million to be spent by the Everett City Council and mayor for the one mile of East Marine View Drive is not an example of what will be required to fund the roads in this area.
I will never understand why the state of Washington and the Everett City Council and mayor want to penalize all who are going to the Everett waterfront by requiring them to drive the longest route instead of the shortest route to this area.
This long route must waste thousands of gallons of fuel every day and cost people millions of dollars every few months. I would like to see some engineering design improvements in the Everett area not motivated by political influence.
It is obvious something must be done with the one mile of roadway (E. Marine View Dr.) since it appears no maintenance was done for years because the city people knew they were going to reconstruct (when they got the money) this road someday. Someday is here, but the price to travel along this section to the waterfront will increase every day forever.
