In light of the current events surrounding Boeing and its ethics, I can’t believe the state and Snohomish County wants the taxpayers to pay $10 million for a pier. All this so Boeing can export more jobs overseas. Don Grinde’s Dec. 15 letter, “Boeing tax breaks: Company should be a ‘team player’” summed up what the outcome will be if we build this new pier.
The last IAM contract was all about subcontracting and outsourcing of jobs, yet the union membership passed it. It’s hard to understand from the point of view of a former employee why I should pay higher taxes to build a pier so some of my former union buddies can have a job when they voted to send my job overseas.
