Concerning the Monday letter, “There’s no time for snooping on votes”:
The letter writer makes an interesting point. She states that up to 30 members of “both political parties” observe the ballot counting. Does that mean only members of the major parties can participate in ballot counting? If so, why should that make us feel better? Both parties have ruled together for a 100 years.
They have a vested interest in one or the other winning. After all, look what they’ve done together: They authorized and continue to fund an undeclared war in Iraq that is helping to bankrupt America. Our dollar isn’t even worth a Canadian dollar. Feel any pain at the pump lately? That’s their friends profiting off our foreign adventures. Osama bin Laden runs free, and we’re supposed to trust these guys?
