Why the preference for dogs on parade?

I would like to commend the City of Everett parks department for allowing dogs in several parks – and I’m not a dog owner.

It’s in contrast to the City of Snohomish, which fines people if their dog gets into a city park – with the exception of Ferguson Park. We have four no dogs allowed signs in the brush under the power lines on North Park Street. We have seven no dog signs in Hill Park on Blackman’s Lake. We have two signs at the Blackman’s Lake boat launch stating that dogs must walk on the asphalt. I presume they would prefer to have the dogs parade on city sidewalks.

Snohomish
